About me and my therapy practice

I am an Accredited Person-Centred Psychotherapist, a Psychologist, a BUPA recognised Psychotherapist and a DBT practitioner.

My Person Centred Approach, and DBT training and experience means that I can work with a wide range of adult issues, such as relationship problems, anxiety, depression, anger issues, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviour, procrastination, stress, men’s issues, women’s issues, complex trauma, grief, identity issues, porn addictions, intimate partner violence, mood disorders and much more.

I am a Neurodivergent psychotherapist & run a ND affirming and positive anti-discrimination practice. I am a GSRD & Global Majority Ally.

Person-centred therapy harnesses the client's natural self-healing process, it is an effective treatment option for a variety of mental health concerns, it is also beneficial to those who are not experiencing mental illness but wish to grow as individuals. Rather than focusing on diagnostic criteria, this approach focuses on personal understandings of the individual as a person.

My approach can help you to improve a greater trust in oneself and one’s abilities, healthier communication skills, healthier relationships with others, improved ability to express opinions and feelings, ability to let go of past hurt or mistakes, ability to strive for healthy changes that make one’s life better.

There can be few amongst us who has not, at one time or another in our lives, experienced the pain of being judged by others. From our earliest days we are brought up to learn and follow the social rules of our respective tribe: how to look, behave, think and feel. Often these rules perform an important function in keeping us safe or maintaining the coherence of our social structures. Other times they impose arbitrary, unrealistic or even toxic expectations about how we should be, sometimes it can leave us feeling stuck and not knowing what to do, which can start to have an impact on our mental health and our ability to cope.

Practice description

The Person centred approach is a type of therapy where the focus is on you as the expert in your own life. My role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel fully accepted, so you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences as I walk along side you, shining a light here and there to help you find your own solutions and grow in the direction that’s right for you.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute introductory session, for us to explore what has brought you here and what you would like to work on. You will have the opportunity to ask questions.

By the end of the first session, you will have a feel for what it would be like to work with me and if I am the right therapist for you. You are not obligated to continue if you decide not to. After all, it's important that you feel completely comfortable with your decision to work with me and that we are the right fit.

After that sessions are 60 minutes, if you prefer longer or shorter sessions I can accommodate that. I essentially charge £1 per minute.

I offer Single Session Therapy, I suggest these are longer @ 90 minutes which would equate to £90

I work online and in person, there is no requirement for you to sit opposite me in the therapy room, we can discuss what would be helpful during the free introductory session.
